The price of all metals fluctuates depending on the current financial climate and market demand, but Singleton’s always aim to give you the best prices for your scrap metal!
The price of scrap varies with some metals being high in demand all of the time, meaning you can get quite a lot of cash for your scrap, while others are worth less than 50p per ounce. You can learn more about what influences the price of scrap in our blog on why scrap metal prices change.
One precious metal has skyrocketed in value this month, with a single ounce being bought and sold for over £2,500. On April 22nd, 2025, the price of gold hit an all-time high, with prices reaching £2,582.74 / $3,500.05 per ounce. The price rise was in part due to the ongoing US tariffs fluctuating.
Gold is a precious metal that’s considered a ‘safe haven’ due to the metal retaining or increasing in value, even in times of economic uncertainty. The Bank of England has one of the world’s largest gold vaults, containing roughly 400,000 gold bars worth billions of pounds, and if you’ve got any gold burning a hole in your pocket, now might be the best time to cash it in!
While we don’t buy or sell gold, we are buyers of all ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals, including:
- Scrap iron
- Scrap stainless steel
- Scrap brass
- Scrap armoured cable
- Scrap aluminium
- Scrap copper
- Scrap PVC cable
- Scrap gun metal
- Scrap steel
- Scrap chrome
- Scrap alloys
While these metals might not fetch you the same value as gold, Singleton’s will always try and give you the best price for your scrap.
